Station 3 responds to Working Auto Fire & MVC with 1 trapped

Two separate incidents within a hour of each other Tuesday morning kept the department busy. The first incident was dispatched for a working auto fire on interstate 68 westbound just prior to exit 45 on Box 0401. Rescue Engine 4, Tanker 4 (Baltimore Pike) and Engine Tanker 3 (Bedford Rd) responded and extinguished a well involved auto, Assistant Chief 4 (Hout) held the I68 command. The fire was extinguished and as the crews operated during overhaul the rescue assignment was dispatched for a personal injury accident on Naves Cross Rd on Box 0301. Engine Tanker 3, Chief 3 & Rescue Engine 4 from the fire scene and Rescue Squad 3 from quarters responded. Chief 3 arrived to a two vehicle accident, with 1 vehicle requiring a “door pop” to remove the patient. Rescue 3 arrived, stabilized and removed the drivers door to access the patient with assistance from ET3 & RE4. Ambulances from Cumberland City responded and transported (2) patients with non-life threatening injuries. Chief 3 (Collins) held the Naves Cross Rd command.
